This page explains how Tickets4Musicians (tickets4musicians.co.uk) collects, uses and protects your personal information — whether you're buying a ticket to a concert, or running events for your own choir, orchestra or music group through the platform. Tickets4Musicians is run by Matt Finch, a self-employed musician trading as Tickets4Musicians, who is the "data controller" for the information described here.

1. What we collect, and why

If you're buying a ticket: we collect your name and email address so we can issue your tickets, send you a receipt, and get in touch if the event changes or is cancelled. If an event offers optional extras — accessible parking, a dietary note, a question from the organiser — we collect whatever you choose to answer. If you tick the box to hear from that group in future, we record that you opted in (and when), so we can honour it and let you unsubscribe later.

If you run a group and sell tickets through us: we additionally hold your group's name and contact details, any bank details or payment link you choose to add so buyers can pay by bank transfer, and — via Stripe — whatever information Stripe needs to verify your identity and pay you out. We only ever store what you choose to publish on your own booking page; we don't hold your full bank account details beyond that.

2. How payment works

Card payments are processed by Stripe, not by us — we never see or store your full card number. If you choose to pay by bank transfer (BACS) instead, we generate a short reference for you to quote, and the organiser checks their own bank statement for that reference to confirm your payment; neither we nor the organiser get access to your bank account itself.

3. Who we share it with

We share your booking details with the organiser of the event you're buying from, since they need this to run the event and check people in on the door. We use Stripe to process card payments securely, and an email delivery service to send tickets, receipts and notifications on our behalf. We do not sell your personal information to anyone, and we do not share it with advertisers.

4. Cookies and similar technology

This site uses one small session cookie to keep you signed in, and a tiny bit of local browser storage to remember your light/dark mode preference — both are essential to how the site works and don't track you elsewhere on the web. We don't currently use any analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. If that ever changes, we'll update this page and ask for your consent first, as the law requires. You'll see a short cookie notice the first time you visit — clicking Accept just confirms you've seen it; declining it makes no difference, since nothing here needs your permission to work.

5. How long we keep it

We keep order and ticket records for as long as we need them for accounting and tax purposes (HMRC generally expects records to be kept for six years), and to help with any queries about a past booking. If you set up an organiser account, we keep your group's details while your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you'd like to come back.

6. Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you can ask us to show you what personal data we hold about you, correct anything that's wrong, delete it, or restrict or object to how we use it — and you can ask for a copy in a portable format. You can withdraw consent for marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, or by asking the organiser directly. To make any of these requests, get in touch via our Help page. If you're ever unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can also complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office, at ico.org.uk.

7. Keeping your data safe

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to keep your information secure, and only ever share it with trusted providers — like Stripe and our email delivery service — who are bound by their own data protection obligations.

8. Children

Tickets4Musicians isn't aimed at children, and bookings should be made by an adult. Where a group sells tickets to a family-friendly event, we still expect whoever makes the booking to be old enough to enter into a contract.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this page from time to time as the platform develops. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
